Stir-frying is
easy and healthy and fast. With a good wok, or frying pan, you are ready to
make a delicious meal in minutes.
Make
sure you have fresh ingredients. |
Chop all the vegetables to the same size.
Heat the wok, or the frying pan over a high heat. Add the oil to the wok
and, when hot, toss in all the ingredients. Experiment with the vegetables
you use. Try new fruits or vegetables to add new flavours to your everyday
meals. Here are some ideas for your fast and healthy food: |
NOODLES WITH
CHICKEN OR PORK |
You will need: |

500g dried or fresh
noodles
-
1 small onion
-
2 cloves of garlic,
chopped
-
150g snow peas
-
1 small bunch of parsley
-
2 chicken or pork fillets,
thinly sliced
-
2 tablespoons of soy
sauce
-
2 tablespoons of oil (sesame
or peanut if possible)

Prepare
the noodles according to the instructions on the packet.
At the same time, heat a wok or frying pan over a high
heat, add the oil and gently move the oil around the
pan. Add the onion and stir-fry for 1 minute. Add the
garlic and drained noodles and stir-fry for 1 minute.
Add the snow peas, chicken or pork. Cook for 5/6 minutes
or until the meat is cooked through. Serve immediately
with a green salad. |
BEANS WITH
SCALLOPS |
Any type
of dried beans or lentils can be used for this recipe.
You will need: |

250g bacon
cut into small cubes

tablespoon of olive oil

1 small
onion
-
3/4 cup
cooked beans or 2 400g cans of beans (drained and rinsed)

Salt and
pepper
-
500g
scallops
-
3
tablespoons of chopped parsley

Heat the
oil in a frying pan and stir-fry the bacon until golden
and crisp. Remove the bacon from the pan and remove the
fat with a paper cloth. Add the chopped onion to the pan
and cook for 2/3 minutes. Add beans and bacon and heat
through. Season with the salt and pepper and keep warm.
Heat a pan or wok over a high heat and add a little of
the oil. When the pan is hot add the scallops and stir-fry
for 3 /4 minutes. Serve the beans and scallops together
with the parsley on top. |
