BRITNEY SPEARS BY HERSELF

How much do you know
about Britney Jean Spears?
Discover her speaking about
her life, her work, her projects
and... why not? her fancies !!!

Born on December 2, 1981 in Kentwood, Louisiana, at 8, she auditioned for the Mickey Mouse Club. Although she was too young for the show, a producer saw her potential and Britney went to New York City to study dance and music at the famous Off-Broadway Dance Center and at the Professional Performing Arts School. At 11, her big chance came and could star on the popular Mickey Mouse Club for two years, relocating with her family to Orlando. At 17, she enjoys being a girl... JUST a girl.

About my family...

My mom noticed that I had a talent and really encouraged me to “go for it.” I realized after the Mickey Mouse Club that I loved performing for not only my family, but for everyone who would watch. I really wanted to follow my dream, and my family was always very supportive from the beginning. My parents play a big role in my career. Finally, I pushed them to do this! I'm so thankful that they supported and believed in me. When we went to New York most parents would be like, 'No, we're staying home.' My mom was always like, 'Baby, whenever you want to come home, we're going home.' She really missed my dad and my family but I was like, 'No, I want to stay. Please!'

Mom is involved in my website but...

She's a teacher and the people asked her if she would mind writing something. I think it's like one of the most read things on the Internet! She says it's very therapeutic for her. But it's so important that she stays my mom - that she's not a stage mom. I do my business and when I come home I can just be me and my mum can cook for me. I wouldn't like it if she was too involved.

The crazy little Jamie...

My little sister Jamie Lynn? She is crazy! When I was little, I was really determined but I was still rather shy and I kept to myself. She'll tell you flat out that she is the biggest star there is! I asked her to be in my performance for the Grammy's, to be the little girl at the very beginning that's dreaming about being me and she said, 'You know, if I do that, the next day all these producers will be calling me! I'm just not ready to deal with that!

Showing bellybuttons is good business...

Showing bellybuttons a very effective marketing tool? That’s a good question. Everybody knows that female sexuality has reached high in the music industry. I can see why people may think it’s a marketing tool. In some cases it may be... but not mine. This is the way I’ve always dressed and the same way that most girls my age dress. And I don’t know if I would get my bellybutton pierced. No plans right now! But you never know! Too trendy!

My hobbies?

I love to shop! I also love talking on the phone, going to movies with friends and reading romance novels! I also have a deep passion for dancing and singing... but dancing was really my first love!

My favorite songs...

I really like, “From the Bottom of My Broken Heart!” Not that it relates to my life, I just like it! But my personal favorite song is “Sometimes.” so I really want my fans to feel and hear how much these songs mean to me."

My favorite artists...

I like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Prince, Madonna, Monica, Matchbox 20, Natalie Imbruglia, N’SYNC and Backstreet Boys. That’s only a few to mention!

If all this ended...

First of all, I would surely consider a motion picture sometime in the future. There's a lot of scripts that I'm interested in. Right now, there's no time because my schedule is so booked and I’m too busy concentrating on my music career. But, if all this ended, I don't think I could return to normal life. I wouldn’t handle it very well. The first week or two would go great because I could rest but after that I would probably go crazy because I'm so used to this life. Without music I don't know what I would do. I'd have to have some involvement in music or with children. Once again I insist: I went to New York to pursue my dream. I always wanted to be a singer. Honestly, it's what I always wanted to do since I was a little girl.

Sometimes

You tell me you're in love with me
That you can't take your pretty eyes away from me
It's not that I don't want to stay
But everytime you come too close I move away
I wanna believe in everything that you say
Cuz it sounds so good
But if you really want me, move it slow
There's things about me you just have to know...
